Electric vehicles in the ‘polder’: new consensus policy in the energy sector.
The arrival of the electric car calls for a new polder-model, this time in a socio-technical context. To understand this, we have to take a broader look at the developments in the energy sector: more renewable electricity generation on one hand and increased electricity demand by electric vehicles and heat pumps on the other hand. One of the obvious and acknowledged problems is of course that the wind blows regardless of energy consumption. Or, in other words, the wind and sun don’t care about when the consumer wants to watch the television.
Successful eRally in Rotterdam
Enthusiastic participants was the result of Formula Zero’s Dutch Incert eRally with electric vehicles in the area of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Participants from the working group ‘Environment and Safety’ of the electric mobility review, grabbed the steering wheel of this type of sustainable mobility themselves on Friday.
